FITPERÚ 2008 on a luxurious stage,
The Real Tombs of Sipán Museum
Lambayeque, from February 14 to 17, 2008

Lambayeque, in northern Peru, has one of the largest concentrations of archeological discoveries in Peru and the world.  The Real Tombs of Sipán, its main icon, is known throughout the world.  The museum that houses these tombs will be the impressive stage for the International Tourism Fair, FITPERU, which will take place from February 14 to 16, 2008, during the Friendship and Gastronomy Festival. 

FITPERÚ 2008 will focus its attention on two concrete audiences: professionals from the sector and the great general public.  FITE 2008 will encourage and solidify meetings between specialists who generate tourism and those who receive tourists.  Here, people are anticipating the presence of a large number of professionals who have confirmed their attendance, including foreign whole-selling tour operators and specialized press.  The fair’s organizing committee has planned to coordinate a “negotiation rounds” system, which is exclusively meant for the national audience.   This procedure will facilitate at least six and at most twenty appointments for each business, depending on the type of offer.  Opening up to the public will allow the presenters to have access to the final customer and offer them an attractive, varied and updated tourism offer as well as special promotions.

FITPERÚ 2008 is scheduled to have:

Business meetings (supply and demand with an agenda of appointments)
Academic activities (seminars, conferences, round tables)
Food festival
Folk festival
Contest for journalists who specialize in tourism
Familiarization trips for foreign operators
Familiarization trips for the international press

Presentations for the artistic program will be determined based on the availability of visiting groups and the confines of the 120m2 stage.
