FITPERÚ
PROMOTES CHAN CHAN, THE LA LUNA PYRAMID, EL BRUJO COMPLEX AND THE REAL TOMBS OF SIPÁN
The organizing committee of “FITPERU,” the International Tourism Fair in Peru, has included archeological icons in the northern part of the country in familiarization trips for international buyers and specialized foreign press.
TRUJILLO: D. Jaime Rull, the Executive President of the organization, informed the press that one of the main activities of FITPERU 2007 will be the visits that are programmed from October 30 to November 11 to diverse zones in the country. These visits will promote these sites on the international level, and are a result of meetings that have taken place with different national and local tourism-related sectors and guilds, as well as municipal authorities and the regional government.
The program of circuits will include visits to CUSCO and MACHU PICHU in the South-East and main archeological tourism icons in the north, like the CHAN CHAN village, the LA LUNA PYRAMID, HUACA del SOL, the EL BRUJO complex, the REAL TOMBS OF SIPÁN and the SICÁN and KUELAP museum. For this reason, Rull has requested support from the authorities that promote tourism in Peru, as well as the private tourism sector.
During one of these meetings, on the 26th, he received support from D. Enrique Sánchez Maura, the regional director of the National Culture Institute, who expressed the need that Peru has to internationally strengthen the world’s patrimony that exists in the northern part of this country. Measures have been taken to do so, but this visit, which will take place during the fair, will be a very important element in this effort.
Rull finished up by expressing that FITPERU has granted accreditations to 232 professionals from 30 countries. Therefore, hotels, operators, as well as land and air transportation services must be prepared to receive them. As the people who host tourists, the citizens of Peru will reap more benefits from this national and international concentration than anyone else, since their incomes will improve. In this way, tourism will produce short, medium and long-term benefits.
