TRUJILLO,
TO THE PALESTRA OF 
INTERNATIONAL TOURISM WITH FITPERÚ2007

TRUJILLO, “the city of eternal spring”, will be the host city for the International Tourism Fair in Peru, FITPERU 2007.  It will host national and international delegations that will participate in this event from this November 3 to 6. 

This event was pushed into action by the La Libertad Regional Tourism Chamber, organized by HoritzoGrup, and will take place thanks to its sponsors: La Libertad Regional Government, Trujillo Provincial Government, the Huanchaco District Government, the La Libertad Chamber of Commerce and Production, the Northwestern Tourism Circuit (CTNPERU), the Peruvian Wings University, the Catholic University of Trujillo and the National University.  The event is supported by: the National Tourism Chamber (CANATUR), the Peruvian Association of Travel Agencies and Tourism (APAVIT), the Peruvian Association for the Reception of Internal Tourism (APOTUR), and the Peruvian Association of Hotels, Restaurants, and other related businesses (AHORA). Different entities and institutions join this group every day in order to produce the largest tourism promotion event in Peru.

The official presentation of FITPERU 2007 took place in the Rafael Remy Auditorium of the La Libertad Chamber of Commerce and Production on Thursday, May 3. Today, the Organizing Committee met for the sixth time and the second Press Conference took place in the El Gran Marqués Hotel & Spa, the first “host-hotel” to the delegations.  In this new act, an agreement was signed between D. Jaime Rull, FITPERU’s Executive President and D. Enrique Herrera, the Manager of El Gran Marqués.

Promotion of FITPERÚ 2008, the event, the city, the region, the zone that is directly influenced (Northern Amazon) and the entire country as a destination for travelers from all over the world is in full swing.  Over this last month, the organizers have been working hard to promote this event on the international level.  The first countries that will see the results of this effort are CUBA and the DOMICICAN REPUBLIC, from June 7 to 10, SPAIN at Eurocotal, where 8000 Latin American Travel Agencies will come together, and CHINA from the 21st to the 23rd during the Bite in Peking.  This journey will see its end at the FITE in Ecuador, where FITPERU will participate with a large delegation and a stand that will present Peru.  FITE will take place in Guayaquil from September 6 to 9. 

Peru will also be the stage that will advertise the sector’s tourism and tourism-related activities at a Press Conference that is scheduled to take place on June 14 in Lima.  The Official Presentation will take place on June 28 in the capital, the country’s tourism neurological and economic center.

The proposal is to concentrate and make good use of all current tourism circuits and create new proposals to make Peru the most diverse international tourism destination.  Therefore, the “FITPERU” Organization, with the Spaniard D. Jaime Rull at the helm, created the slogan “THE COUNTRY OF A THOUSAND WONDERS.”
