THE MAYOR OF GUAYAQUIL VISITS TRUJILLO, PERÚ

The colonial city of Trujillo will be the stage for FITPERU, which will be held in November

The mayor of the city of Guayaquil, Lawyer Jaime Nebot, will arrive at the beautiful colonial city of Trujillo on Sunday the 23rd.  He will remain in this city, whose mayor is Doctor César Acuña Peralta, until Tuesday, the 25th.

The meeting between the mayor and diverse Peruvian counterparts is a follow up to a meeting between the mayors and city representatives that took place in Guayaquil in November 2006. 

Part of the city’s international relations expansion program includes participating in FITPERU (International Tourism Fair in Peru) from November 3 to 6.  Here the market in Guayaquil and Ecuador will be promoted especially for the public from the northern part of this neighboring country.  Likewise, Peru will do the same by offering their alternatives to Ecuadorian agencies.  Therefore, various activities are in the works: a Festival of Food from Guayaquil, musical presentations, academic activities as well as agreements between national and Peruvian universities.  These activities will act as a follow up to FITE, which closed its doors with great success just a few days ago.  

In December, Guayaquil will host the first EXPOMUNICIPAL, a Fair-Symposium that is organized by HoritzoGrup.  According to Jaime Rull, the event’s Executive President, this event will bring together diverse city governments so they can share their knowledge about worthwhile projects and experiences that have had.  A good number of businesses and entities that specialize in equipment, projects and municipal funding will also be there. 

This event will take place in Guayaquil’s new Simón Bolívar Conventions Center from December 10 to 12.  More than 2,000 representatives from city halls, city and regional governments, technicians and specialized personnel are expected to arrive from diverse countries.
