tumbas reales de sipánTHE REAL TOMBS OF SIPÁN
IS THE NEW STAGE FOR FITPERÚ

Following inter-guild difficulties that came up in Trujillo and in the La Libertad Region, as well as a lack of support from city and regional authorities, the FITPERU organization, which is promoted by  HoritzoGrup, receives support from the Lambayeque Government, and moves to Chiclayo.

During the last few weeks, as a result of worsening conflicts between the CARETUR and CADETUR tourism chambers in the La Libertad region, the City of Trujillo and the Regional Government’s lack of definition regarding economic support, and the resulting impasse with CANATUR and PROMPERU, the executive president of the INTERNATIONAL TOURISM FAIR IN PERU, D. Jaime Rull, in accordance with the Organizing Committee, proceeded to move the event to the Lambayeque Region.  The Regional President, Dr. Yehude Simon, has requested that the fair be held in Lambayeque in it’s 2008 edition.

The dates have been set for February 14 to 17.  By postponing the event for three months, there will be enough time to prepare the 5,000 m2 grounds and diverse activities in the place that has been committed to hold the event since last September 17.

  • 207 Professional Accreditations
  • 58 International Buyers
  • 31 International Press Media
  • 14 Folklore and Artistic Groups: with a range of more than 150 people
  • 76 Presenters with stands
  • 11 International speakers from Argentina, Spain, Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela and Colombia

museo de sipánDiverse international authorities have confirmed their attendance, amongst which are the President of COTAL, the President of EUROCOTAL, the Coordinator of the WTO, the World Tourism Organization for the Andean Pact, and others.
It is also important to highlight the bi-national meeting that is being prepared with Ecuador, and its 150 m2 pavilion of stands that will represent the public and private sector.   In this way, a tourism exchange between Northern Peru and Southern Ecuador, which has been discussed so many times and has never become a reality, will “effectively” start.  There will be a special flight with AEROGAL, which will pick up professionals from Colombia and Ecuador and will bring them to the FITPERU host city.
Sipán will be one of the great attractions that the visitors who come to FITPERU 2008 will be able to enjoy in just a few more weeks.
