ANNOUNCES THE LIST OF
INVITED INTERNATIONAL
BUYERS AND PRESS

A good sized group of international tour operators and press who are specialized in tourism will come to Peru from the following countries:  ARGENTINA, BOLIVIA, BRAZIL, CANADA, CHILE, CHINA, COSTA RICA, ECUADOR, FRANCE, GERMANY, HONDURAS, HUNGARY, INDIA, MEXICO, POLAND, PUERTO RICO, RUSSIA, URUGUAY, THE UNITED STATES and VENEZUELA.  Jaime Rull, the Executive President of the International Tourism Fair in Peru, made this announcement during a presentation in which he outlined the work that he did after the international registration period concluded.  The Fair will take place from February 14 to 17 in Lambayeque.

Friday was a long day filled with arduous work and meetings for the FITPERU organization, given that there are only 25 days before the fair’s opening day.  With representatives from the local media, the Campaign to Heighten Citizen Awareness was presented.  This campaign hopes to prepare the population with images of the Sipán man that contain phrases to remind them about values, ethics, morals and friendship, as well as helpful tips about cleaning, safety, organization, etc.  The media, including television channels, radio stations, newspapers and magazines, will help advertise this campaign.

On the verge of finishing the work in the Museum of the Real Tombs of Sipán, the Committee held a meeting where all of the tourism-related representatives are concentrated.  In this meeting, they coordinated logistics, lodging, food, entertainment and transportation for the 70 special invitees from various countries, as well as the delegations of international and national presenters.  The purpose of this meeting was to better coordinate over 600 professionals who have been accredited up until today.  Hopefully this number will increase to more than 1,000 presenters who come to Chiclayo and Lambayeque during the event. 

Directors of the AHORA, APAVIT, APOTUR guilds, as well as the DIRCETUR institution and the LAMBAYEQUE REGIONAL GOVERNMENT, alongside others that form the Organizing Committee, informed that registration for national participation would be open until January 31.  In this way, national presenters will be able to have a stand and participate in diverse activities.  Certainly, the Business Rounds with a schedule of appointments will be important.  Here, more than 800 appointments are scheduled between Peruvian enterprises that will offer their services to the international buyers and tour operators.
