EXTREMES IN THE WORLD
AND FITPERÚ 2008
Civilization is reaching new peaks: the construction of the tallest building in the world, the Burj Tower in Dubai, which will be more than 550 meters tall, and the Seikan Tunnel, the longest in the world, extending almost 54 kilometers between the Honshu and Hokkaiko islands in Japan. The world also awaits a cruise on Royal Caribbean’s Genesis Project, which, at 360 meters long, will be able to carry more than 5,400 passengers on each trip in 2009. Evidently, the high-speed train has already fallen behind. Some of these advances are at our doorstep; today in Shangai, we can levitate from Pundong to the airport at 430 km per hour.
However, Peru is where the world’s wonders come together in the country’s three natural segments: Coast, The Andes, and the Amazon. FITPERU 2008 invites you to discover the “COUNTRY OF A THOUSAND WONDERS,” a slogan which was created by HoritzoGrup to promote this event and its host city on the international level.
Lambayeque and the Northern Amazon has become an icon of endless archeological discoveries, comparable only to those which happened in Egypt at the beginning of the last century. Sipán, Cao, Sicán, Ventarrón, Chan Chan, el Brujo complez, the Kuelap fortress, Pomac and El Gran Pajatén are just some of the millennial remains that are located in Peru’s Northern Amazon region. Today, Chiclayo and Lambayeque are getting ready to host FITPERU 2008, the International Tourism Fair in Peru, which will take place from February 14 to 17 of this year.
People who attend the event will have the opportunity to enter the Museum of the Real Tombs of Sipán, situated in Lambayeque, since the fair will be installed in the same area as the museum. Entrance will be only granted to professionals and the general public. This will be a great opportunity to continue to discover both the ancient and current world through tourism.
Delegations, visitors and journalists from more than 30 countries and a total of four continents have been accredited for this international fair. This will encourage development in the tourism circuits in Peru, and serve as a bridge between the Southern, Central and Northern parts of the country.
