Today at 11:30 A.M., the cooperation and exchange agreement between FITPERÚ, FITE-ECUADOR and EUROCOTAL was signed at the Torremolinos Palace of Congresses. At the Press Conference, D. Luis Callejón and D. Jaime Rull, the fairs’ representatives, expressed that these agreements are considered to be part of the process of globalization and the expansion of tourism that the world will experience in the first decade of the twenty-first century. The International Tourism Fair in Ecuador and the International Tourism Fair in Peru are professional tools for the sector that will further the evolution of tourism in Latin American. Therefore, COTAL and EUROCOTAL have planned to hold this international event every year in Spain. They also plan to support and maintain an exchange with aforementioned fairs in Ecuador and Peru. "Fairs strengthen the tourism activity in the host country as well as the countries that participate in them.” In this way, tour operators, hotels, travel agencies, airlines, promotional entities, governments and an infinite number of related sectors and activities find a space in which to efficiently promote, sell and buy destinations and services in one point and at one established time. The network of fairs helps them exchange experiences and gather information, as well as to seek optimal results for the presenters, professional visitors, and the general public, which, in the end, becomes the consumer (tourist). All three fairs, FITPERU, FITE and EUROCOTAL, last four days, include activities which are exclusively intended for professionals as well as part that is open to the general public. Negotiations take place on all levels of this activity. The ITB in Berlin, the WTC in London and FITUR in Madrid also follow this formula. Together, FITE, which will be held in Ecuador from September 6 to 9, and FITPERU, which will be held in Peru from November 3 to 6, will be icons for international tourism meetings on the Pacific Coast during the second semester of 2007.
