FITPERU 2008

Since the first days of January, adaptation of the grounds where the INTERNATIONAL TOURISM FAIR IN PERU, FITPERU 2008 will take place has speeded up in order to keep up with the work schedule that was created in October of last year.

Intervention of the Lambayeque Regional Government, the Naylamp Executing Unit and the Lambayeque and Chiclayo City Governments have allowed machinery and personnel to work so they can equip the facilities with all basic services by January 20. In this way, they will be able to accommodate the needs of 20,000 visitors, the number of people who are expected to attend this event from February 14 to 17.

FITPERÚ is the only event of its kind in the country. It will bring together supply and demand, professionals and the visiting public who are searching for new tourism alternatives within and outside of the country. A permanent schedule of activities from 10 AM to 8 PM has been accorded, so as to offer the maximum number of possibilities to both national and foreign visitors.

According to the declarations of Jaime Rull, the president of both HoritzoGrup and the event, setting up the fair grounds is one of a few activities that have been carried out since October. Other activities have taken place, including: cleaning up and decorating the host cities, improving the roads, making the citizens aware of the event, signage for tourists, promotion of tourism by youth groups, improvement of services and other entities that receive foreign tourism operators, international journalists from tourism-related media, and visitors from all over Peru, so that the “THE COUNTRY OF A THOUSAND WONDERS” can be shown to all the world.
