FITPERÚ 2008 WAS PRESENTED IN THE PRESENCE OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE GOVERNMENT

1After several months of preparation, the OFFICIAL PRESENTATION ACT of the 1st INTERNATIONAL TOURISM FAIR IN PERU “FITPERÚ-2008” took place.  This event will take place this November, from the third to the sixth.

The Act was celebrated at 12:00 in the La Libertad Chamber of Commerce and Production Auditorium in the city of Trujillo, neurological and economic center of Northern Peru.  The Official Act, which commenced with the National Anthem and words of welcome from Miss María Cristina Delgado, Miss Tourism from La Libertad:

1“The colonial city of Trujillo puts on its Sunday best for you, in order to present an essential event, that, starting today, will stimulate the development of tourism in our country, especially from ALL northern countries.  We want to strengthen our presence both within and outside of our borders in the frame of globalization.”  Mr. José Murgia, Engineer, the Honorable President of the Regional Government, Mr. Fernando Vásquez, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Production, Mr. Alfredo Petrozzi, Vice President of CANATUR and Director of AHORA, Mr. Roberto Angulo, President of the Regional Tourism Chamber, different people from the public and private sector, as well as the most important press media who came from all over the country were there to support the largest tourism event to take place in Peru.

D. Jaime Rull, the Executive President of FITEPERU and the Organizing Committee, conducted the 30-minute presentation of the event, its characteristics, objectives and extensive international repercussion. FITPERÚ and the Organizing Committee bring together the main institutions and entities in the area and the country. 

With applause from two-hundred invitees, the president of the government concluded the act by inviting everyone from the country’s tourism, crafts and exporting sectors to get involved with this worthwhile national and international initiative that promotes the northern part of the country and the whole country.  In this way, all contributors will be working together towards overall improvement.  The Trujillo Hymn melody bid farewell to those who attended.
